Taking it to the limit...

Windows XP's explorer.exe likes to crash. Likes to crash a lot. Likes to crash at the drop of a speck of dust. It crashes so often and loses (pukes) pages like a leaky siv shot up by anti tank artillery.
So pissed off at XP again I decided to assist (beta test) the next OS my system will be running. Until the end of October when the HD is blanked for Phantasy Star Universe.
And IF I like what Vista offers I *may* keep the wee beastie until June 7th 2007 and get the Ultimate version of Vista. I like toys, I like bells, I like whistles, I HATE IT when I can't do X with Y OS.
Now you may ask... if I'll fork over $400 for Vista Ultimate (sounds like a damn fighting game), why won't I fork over $700 for a Playstation 3? Well... let's see... Phantasy Star Universe... would you take that as an answer?

It also hates flash pages with a passion.
Actually... it crashes on pretty much anything.
Should have a report on Vista in a day or two. Just about ready to install it, but checking to see if everything I need has been backed up.

crashes annoying me... I had less trouble with previous windows versions.
Had to get a 4th DVD burner, first two HPs were ubercrap. Third drive an LG drive ended up crapping out on its first DVD burn. Used it to read from only 3 DVD discs so reading was OK, just burning was borked.
Best Buy wouldn't take it back, as the drive is past 90 days (93 days) warranty.
So a $70 hole in my pocket later... got a BENQ drive. Ugly black little thing against my beige case... but... it burned what I wanted. So its got a comfy home in my case. ^^
So here goes. Installation beginning in 5 minutes after I button up the case.

Consoles still have a long way to go to meet your expectations.

If the upcoming Zelda game for the Wii comes out around launch then I'll get my hands on it. Looks good and the controls look fun too.
