On Sunday March 29th at around 1:30pm EST I setup Triela at my friend's place for some gaming action. Henrietta tagged along for the ride and ended up being my main gaming rig as Triela's PSU went BOOMPH! <loud buzzing electrical noises and lighting up like the 4th of July> blowing not only the fuse for the wall outlet and essential coffee maker, but blowing out the attached UPS battery backup.
Can't complain about the battery backup, as the little Blackout Buster UPS has served me well in its lifetime. The Rosewill PSU (Power SUpply) installed in Triela... well... only been 90 days and its dead.
So basically Sunday sucked. Two pieces of my gear up in smoke with that lovely feeling of dread as I thought about what else went digitally extinct. Monday night on the ride home about 1am...
Sorry kids, we need to cancel Easter. I hit the Easter Bunny on the way home on I-93.
I had to pull over for about 10 minutes, I couldn't see the road through all the tears in my eyes. I know it was either the rabbit or my smacking the guardrail avoiding the cute little terrified and now flattened woodland creature. I still feel guilty for not being able to do anything to avoid hitting it. I couldn't go anywhere, couldn't slow down, and if I swerved to my left I'd be one with a tractor trailer, and if I hit my brakes I'd have the entire contents of my trunk visiting my colon thanks to the JERK tailgating me. And to the right the concrete guardrail keeping traffic from venturing off road. Which brings me to another thing...
WHAT PART OF SPEED LIMIT DO FOLKS NOT FREAKING UNDERSTAND?!
Gads I drive in the ways of Hybrid Zen. I go the speed limit, use my cruise control, only use my AC on those really unbearable days, keep my tires properly inflated, and don't haul unnessecary crap in my car. I use less fuel than anyone else I've seen who drives a hybrid. THEY ALL PASS ME!
And the next time a gray Ford Taurus passes me on a double yellow... I'll get a picture of you in the act. You're a few brain cells short of a pair when it comes to safe driving.
But I'm quite pleased the PSU was the ONLY thing that died in my PC. Or I'd be somewhere hugging myself surrounded by folks in clean white coats.
