$40 US in the hole? *sigh* yep...
New game? Valkyrie Profile Lenneth... hell yeah!
Free memory card space? 300mb... plenty!
Charged battery? Yep!
System 2.60? Uh... uh-oh... 1.50... uhm... <town obliterated by F-bomb>
Ok... I've got several options.
Option 1: Upgrade to 2.60 (firmware) and lose the option to run IR Remote, PSPRadio, DGen 1.6, and NesterJ, and play Valkyrie Profile Lenneth now.
Option 2: Buy a new PSP, update the firmare, and use it as a UMD gaming only plaform.
Option 3: Curse SONY to eternal damnation for sticking their nose up at homebrew applications that make the SONY PSP more useful than a $300+ PDA.
Grrr...
Option 4: DEVHOOK 0.44, VPL's update 2.60, and reboot.bin.
After spending an hour trying to get the damn thing working I finally located a reboot.bin file. Placed it in the location specified, loaded up DEVHOOK, and selected the proper firmware. BAM! Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on a 1.5 firmware PSP that thinks its a 2.60 firmware PSP.
A pain in the butt, but worth it. Only gripe is the video gets a diagonal garble now and then. But aside from that... its VALKYRIE PROFILE!!
