Memory Woes GRRR... DVD?!?
Journal Entry: Sat Sep 9, 2006, 3:35 PM
Found the receipt for the tin whiskered memory, sent it off to PNY Tuesday afternoon via it had to be there last millenium next day service. And got a reply wed. morning via e-mail saying they're processing my RMA.
RMA? The RAM is dead, its not a return, its an exchange dammit. A stick of dead RAM to be exchanged for a stick of shiny new working RAM. So begins a 10 day countdown. 10 days being the maximum time they take for an "RMA".
So if they've noticed its been shipped over freaking night and their service tech has been told the RAM is needed ASAP then why bother with an RMA if the memory was sent to them with its original packaging, receipt, and in a package marked OVERNIGHT?
What part of urgent do people not get? What part of overnight do people not get? What part of I NEED IT ASAP!! do people not get?
Also want to see if the Sims 2 will work on my laptop... but alas... I forget... my Sims 2 install/play disc is a freaking DVD!! Laptop no have DVD, laptop have CD-RW...
Grrr...

The spice must flow!
Which means for the weekend when I'll NEED to do something creative or I'll go whackadinghoy my RAM will be sitting in a storage area while UPS twiddles its thumbs and toes taking their sweet time delivering a package needed urgently.

I don't think they ever released the dvd edition in the uk... (unless it was released much later)
My restarting problems with the sims was fixed when i had more mem added to it but I think the crashing might be my graphics or sound
I've found most of my PC woes to focus around video drivers and my firewall's (ZoneAlarm Pro) and avast! antivirus's popup blocking butting heads.

Sooner or later i'm doing a pc swap with my dad he'll get my pc and i'll get a new one.
Poser 5 can't load Aiko 3, too little RAM and system memory, Aiko 3 in DAZ Studio looks like her polygons stretch out down to her feet kinda looks melted. And Second Life won't run above 0.2 FPS.
Galactic Civilizations won't install, The Sims runs like molasses, and I've been dying to play Oblivion...
